Note: This is a starter skeleton. It requires analyst/legal review before the first live briefing is sent.
What We Collect
The only personal data we collect is your email address, and only when you voluntarily subscribe to the Daily Briefing.
We do not collect names, IP addresses, browsing history, or any other personal information.
Why We Collect It
Your email address is used solely to deliver the Daily Briefing — a daily analysis of the 2026 midterm elections through the lens of economic populism. We will not use it for any other purpose.
Legal Basis
We rely on consent as our legal basis for processing your email address. Consent is collected via a confirmed double opt-in process: you submit your email, receive a confirmation message, and must click a link in that message to activate your subscription. We do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit confirmation.
You may withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing (see below).
Data Processors
We use the following third-party services to operate the briefing:
- Resend — transactional email delivery. Resend Privacy Policy · Resend DPA
- Upstash — serverless Redis storage for subscriber records and delivery metadata. Upstash Privacy Policy · Upstash DPA
- Vercel — hosting and serverless infrastructure. Vercel Privacy Policy · Vercel DPA
Each processor handles your data only as necessary to deliver the service described above and is bound by data processing agreements consistent with applicable privacy law.
Data Retention
- Active subscriber records are retained for as long as your subscription is active.
- Unsubscribed records are deleted within 3 years of unsubscription.
- Delivery metadata (send timestamps, recipient counts) contains no personal data and is retained indefinitely for audit purposes.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every briefing email, or by visiting /briefing/.
- Request erasure of your subscriber record by emailing briefing@2026gildedage.com.
- Request a copy of your subscriber data (email address, subscription status, consent timestamp) by emailing briefing@2026gildedage.com.
We will respond to erasure and data export requests within 30 days.
